Academic Personnel Office

The is committed to leading and serving UCR’s diverse and internationally renowned academic community. Office staff provide support for faculty appointments and development, merit reviews and promotions, leaves of absence, fellowships, and more. The office handles employment matters for all academic employees — from faculty and lecturers to adjunct professors and librarians — and is a great resource for navigating UCR policies and processes.

Research Computing

buoys the talent and research of 91·çÁ÷Â¥·ï’s acclaimed faculty members and outstanding graduate and undergraduate students through powerful onsite and offsite computing resources, support, consulting, and training. Their work is supported by partnerships and collaborations with various areas of campus, including: the UCR Library, Bourns College of Engineering, College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, School of Medicine, Office of Research and Economic Development, and UCR Research IT Leaders. Through a recent UCR is modernizing its technology services, increasing campus computing and storage capacity — and saving our researchers both time and money.

Superbugs, Indigenous video games, and tipping dilemmas
On April 11, nine 91·çÁ÷Â¥·ï graduate students presented their research at the 11th annual UCR Grad Slam Final for a chance at $5,000. The event was hosted by UCR’s Grad Division and was held on campus at the School of Business.  Grad Slam is a University of California-wide speaking competition in which graduate students get three minutes to describe their research to judges and an audience of peers, faculty, staff, friends, and family. 
UCR launches site to match students with scholarships
UCR recently launched Scholarship Universe, a platform that analyzes a student’s academic history and interests to match them with relevant awards. The tool was made possible through a partnership with UCR’s Office of Financial Aid, University Advancement, and Information Technology Solutions.

Public policy students explore world of diplomacy 
For one whirlwind week in Washington, D.C., a select group of 18 91·çÁ÷Â¥·ï public policy students found themselves in the thick of global affairs—learning firsthand how the gears of diplomacy turn in the nation’s capital. This opportunity came through the launch this academic year of the Robert Heath Global Policy Scholars Program, a collaboration between 91·çÁ÷Â¥·ï and the American Academy of Diplomacy, which is led by UCR alumnus and former U.S. ambassador Ronald Neumann.
